Yoga as Primary Care Online

Primary care medical providers (PCPs) are generally the first experts people contact when they get sick. A PCP functions both as an educator and a guide to help patients find solutions to their health challenges. Unfortunately, too often conventional docs focus more on presenting the solutions than empowering their patients. Introducing yoga into the current primary care medical practices has the potential to create a shift in our healthcare system toward such empowerment. Healthcare professionals, as well as the yoga instructors and yoga therapists, will benefit from this one-day intensive training.

What you will learn:

  • How the current medical provider model works, its shortcomings and its benefits
  • How therapeutically oriented yoga can support and enhance the primary care model
  • The most effective ways to bring the holistic teachings of yoga and meditation together with conventional primary care medicine
  • Practical tools necessary to bring yoga into medicine and dramatically alter the direction of healthcare for future generations

LEVEL FIVE: Unification online

Level Five brings together all that you’ve learned in your YogaFit 200‐hour teacher training, and shifts the emphasis from external accomplishments to internal growth. Applying the powerful practice of staying in the present moment, an integral tenet of the essence of YogaFit, this two‐day intensive may be the end of your official teacher training, but it’s just the beginning of your journey inward toward true integration.

What you will learn:

  • Review what you’ve learned in Levels One through Four, including asana, pranayama, subtle anatomy, and meditation
  • Review teaching methodologies and refine communication skills
  • Explore the business of yoga
  • Unify all the elements you’ve learned to create a more mindful practice
  • Learn how to use concepts from The Power of Now to strengthen your teaching and your personal connection to the practice
  • Deepen your relationships to yourself and to others through creative visualization, affirmations, and specific self‐awareness practice

Please note:

  • Levels One through Four are mandatory prerequisites for Level Five--no exceptions.
  • Registrations for Virtual Level Five trainings will end 7 days prior to the event so that materials can be mailed to you.  We cannot ship materials outside of the United States. Please make sure your address is up to date and accurate in your student portal. Click here for instructions for updating your address.
  • Cancellations will not be eligible for a refund for Virtual Level Five after the materials have been mailed.
  • Due to the scheduling involved with Level 4 and 5, requests to transfer out of in-person Level 4 or 5 trainings into virtual trainings will result in a $100 transfer fee.

LEVEL ONE: Foundations Online

The first step on the path toward becoming a yoga teacher or simply deepening your practice, Level One provides the tools to create inspiring vinyasa yoga classes grounded in proper alignment and the safety of exercise science.

While there are no prerequisites for this course, we do require that all attendees read Beth Shaw's YogaFit prior to attending. This book explains the foundation of our entire teacher training program, and allows for better overall understanding of the material covered in our Level One Training. Please email edu@yogafit.com with any questions about Level One!.  We look forward to seeing you on the mat.

Note: In order to receive a Certificate of Completion for Level One, you must also complete eight hours of practice teaching as a community service, in which you bring the gift of yoga, free of charge, to individuals who would not normally be exposed to yoga on a regular basis.

Upon completion of the Level One training and Community Service hours, click here for instructions regarding obtaining your certificate.

You have one year from the date of your Level 1 Training to complete Community Service and apply for your Level 1 Certificate. We do understand that sometimes life events interfere with our plans. Please email certs@yogafit.com if you find that you may need an extension for completion.

Yoga as Primary Care Online

What should I expect at a MBF Conference?

MBF's are 4 days of trainings held in large cities all over Canada and the US.  Each day begins with a complimentary Master Class, led by one of our dynamic YogaFit Trainers.  Trainings run from 8 am to 6 pm Thursday through Saturday and from 7 am to 5 pm on Sundays.  Save your energy, because the fun continues each evening with different educational workshops. In the past, these sessions have included Essential Oils, Introduction to Thai Massage, Chakra Dance Party and more.  Each conference offers a variety of trainings for those attendees just starting out on their 200hr path through trainings for our 900hr YogaFit Healthcare Program.  YogaFit highly recommends attending Level 4 at a conference so that you can fully immerse yourself in this life-changing 4 days of learning and experiencing. Our MBF's offer an opportunity to interact with our YogaFit Trainers, as well as members of our corporate staff.  Last, but not least, we have a merchandise boutique open throughout each conference, where you can pick up the latest music, books, clothes, etc.  Don't wait...register for an MBF today!
