LEVEL ONE: Foundations Online

The first step on the path toward becoming a yoga teacher or simply deepening your practice, Level One provides the tools to create inspiring vinyasa yoga classes grounded in proper alignment and the safety of exercise science.

While there are no prerequisites for this course, we do require that all attendees read Beth Shaw's YogaFit prior to attending. This book explains the foundation of our entire teacher training program, and allows for better overall understanding of the material covered in our Level One Training. Please email edu@yogafit.com with any questions about Level One!.  We look forward to seeing you on the mat.

Note: In order to receive a Certificate of Completion for Level One, you must also complete eight hours of practice teaching as a community service, in which you bring the gift of yoga, free of charge, to individuals who would not normally be exposed to yoga on a regular basis.

Upon completion of the Level One training and Community Service hours, click here for instructions regarding obtaining your certificate.

You have one year from the date of your Level 1 Training to complete Community Service and apply for your Level 1 Certificate. We do understand that sometimes life events interfere with our plans. Please email certs@yogafit.com if you find that you may need an extension for completion.

YogaFit for Injury Prevention and Recovery Online

No one likes to get injured. But for an athlete, an injury can constitute a major setback and even hinder or end a professional career. Unfortunately, once an injury does occur, the likelihood of recurrence or additional problems increases. With its dual focus on recovery and prevention, this two-day intensive shows you how to help athletes return to their game post-injury and, perhaps more important, help them prevent injuries in the first place so they can stay in the game. Ideal for sports professionals who work with athletes—yoga teachers, personal trainers, physiotherapists, and strength and conditioning coaches.

What you will learn:

  • To identify and assess risk factors for the most common sports-related injuries
  • To navigate the complex world and unique challenges of athletes, whether they’re professional, diehards, or weekend warriors
  • How conventional medicine manages sports injuries and how yoga complements conventional treatment options
  • How adding yoga to an athlete’s training regimen can promote wellness, enhance performance and longevity, and prevent injuries
  • How yoga can be a corrective and strengthening exercise for all-around elite performance and longevity
  • How to create a yoga program that will enhance strength, flexibility, balance and focus for both professional and casual athletes
  • How to create an individualized, therapeutically oriented yoga program using sequencing, breathing techniques, meditation, and other yoga-based methods that focus on intervention, activity modification, and rehabilitation

What should I expect at a MBF Conference?

MBF's are 4 days of trainings held in large cities all over Canada and the US.  Each day begins with a complimentary Master Class, led by one of our dynamic YogaFit Trainers.  Trainings run from 8 am to 6 pm Thursday through Saturday and from 7 am to 5 pm on Sundays.  Save your energy, because the fun continues each evening with different educational workshops. In the past, these sessions have included Essential Oils, Introduction to Thai Massage, Chakra Dance Party and more.  Each conference offers a variety of trainings for those attendees just starting out on their 200hr path through trainings for our 900hr YogaFit Healthcare Program.  YogaFit highly recommends attending Level 4 at a conference so that you can fully immerse yourself in this life-changing 4 days of learning and experiencing. Our MBF's offer an opportunity to interact with our YogaFit Trainers, as well as members of our corporate staff.  Last, but not least, we have a merchandise boutique open throughout each conference, where you can pick up the latest music, books, clothes, etc.  Don't wait...register for an MBF today!
