Meet Master Trainer: Paul Galloro
What's your favourite yoga pose and why?
Ask me this question on any given day and it always changes. This very second I'd have to say Wheel pose - it feels so free and open to me!
If you could have any super power which one would it be?
You mean I don't have super powers already? The power to heal all suffering everywhere.
What are your morning must-haves?
Hot water and lemon, A Course In Miracles daily workbook lesson, oil pulling, and lots and lots of quite!
Do you have a hidden talent that only your close friends/family know of?
Well nothing I can share in a public forum like this ... oh! I'm a Karaoke Superstar - but that's no secret ;)
How did you discover YogaFit?
It's interesting, really. I was working for GoodLife Fitness and they were slowly introducing YogaFit and YogaFit Sweat programming into their clubs. My manager had asked me to attend the first YogaFit Sweat training in Canada, which was lead by Beth Shaw, and in that training she said I would make a good YogaFit trainer. At the time I didn't believe her!
What influenced your decision to become a YogaFit Master Trainer?
Have a conversation with Lisa Greenbaum after Level 4 - we were standing on the steps of her apartment during Pride weekend in summer 2011 and I just knew it was time.
What has been the impact of your yoga teacher training in your life and in the lives of those you teach?
Wow - how much space do I have to answer this question? ;) Honestly, it was life changing. Before beginning my yoga journey I knew I wasn't where I wanted to be in life, but I had no idea how far off I was. My yoga and spiritual practice has aligned me with my True Self and because of that I think my clients and students have a more authentic guide and mentor on their journey and I'm grateful for that.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their yoga journey?
We often think that our yoga and spiritual journey needs to look a certain way, or that being a yogi means you have to do or not do certain things ... it's not true. Be yourself, continue being yourself, accept all aspects of yourself, and do it all with Love - that's what it means to be a yogi!
I love you all - thanks for your time and presence while reading this. Sending Love and hugs to each of you xo
