How long have you been with YogaFit?
Your morning must-haves?
My slippers, coffee or earl grey tea with almond milk and splashing cold water on my face.
Your favourite yoga pose?
Lately my body has been craving Balasana (Child's Pose).
Have you taken any YogaFit trainings?
The title of your biography?
Through Storms to Self
What brought you to your mat?
My high school Phys. Ed. teacher. Shout out to Barb King!! She's also a YogaFit Alumni.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
To be able to heal all emotional & physical wounds with just a hug. On a less cheesy yogi note, time travel would be pretty cool too.
How did you discover YogaFit?
My mother discovered YogaFit through canfitpro and after she completed her Level 1: Foundations training she loved it so much that for my 22nd birthday she gave me a Level 1: Foundations training as a gift. Later, I started teaching at the YogaFit Training Centre and shortly after that I was offered a position in the office.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love connecting with the YogaFit community online through our YogaFit Canada facebook page and twitter but what I love most is meeting our community face-to-face at our MBFs, during canfitpro conferences and our intensives.
What is your favourite YogaFit memory so far?
It’s hard to choose just one! I suppose if I have to I can narrow it down (sort of) to every dance party that I’ve had with the YogaFit community: during a teacher training, at the World Fitness Expo Galla when we tear up the dance floor with the Navina crew, or at Buddies with my co-workers after a busy week in the office.
What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga to me is all about connection. Having a loving connection with Self, with our community, and with nature. My yoga practice consists of various practices on the mat (pranayama, chanting, meditation, and asana) and off the mat (forest walks, swimming in lakes, interacting with and observing animals and insects, conversing with friends and family, painting/creating) as a way for me to keep these connections strong.
