Your favourite YogaFit training?
I'm am not new to yoga but I am new to YogaFit Training and I have completed my Level 1 and am currently working on my hours requirement which is going to prove very very exciting :)
I have been practicing yoga for years and I have always wanted to incorporate yoga not only into my massage client homecare programs. I am looking at participating in some volunteer exchange programs where I would be using massage and yoga as a means of teaching childcare and senior care providers the benefits of yoga and therapeutic touch.
What brought you to your mat?
I was going through a period in my life that was feeling a little less than positive and I connected with a wonderful Yoga studio where I spend pretty much everyday. I believe the my fitness (bodybuilding) combined with daily Yoga practice is what has been my saving grace through all the rough times...It has been what helped to heal my emotional body which has been the focus of my practice over the last number of years.
How did you discover YogaFit?
I discovered YogaFit first when taking my canfitpro personal training certification and again later when attending a hot yoga class where the instructor was absolutely incredible and is YogaFit trained. It convinced me that YogaFit is where I wanted to do my learning.
What made you decide to choose YogaFit as part of your yoga journey?
I had actually looked at a number of different trainings and found that YogaFit fit everything that Yoga meant to me and at the same time I found it was just the best training that would allow me to learn at my own pace.
What is your favourite YogaFit memory so far?
Well my Level 1 class was amazing and every second of it was engaging, fun and memorable. April was so encouraging. The most memorable things about my class was the way April engaged us and how she made us feel so comfortable.
Why was Level 1: Foundations your favourite YogaFit training?
Well Level 1 was my first so it is just my favourite for that reason but I am so looking forward to moving forward and adding to the foundations of Level 1.
When you look forward, what does your yoga journey look like?
Yoga is something that I will do as long as my body continues to allow me. I see Yoga as something I will do now....a practice that I will continue to incorporate into every aspect of my massage, my personal training and my life.
What is one of your favourite, go-to cues you use to teach your students?
Allow yourself to relax....To let go. Let go of your day, of your week ....let go of anything that is not serving you in a wonderful and positive way. Acknowledge the thoughts that come into your head.... don't dwell on them and just let them float on by.....focusing on your breath.
