How did you discover Yoga/ YogaFit?
I stumbled into yoga about eight years ago. Needing to make some changes in my body and what I didn’t realize at the time – my life. I began a consistent practice at a local studio. I enjoyed reconnecting with my body. I began to do triathlons and the training was hard on my body. I found that yoga was truly the fourth discipline in triathlon as well as nutrition. After my first Level 1 training, I couldn’t stop. You may say I was addicted to training. I finished my RYT200 in December of 2012 and my RYT500 in August of 2013. It has been an amazing journey and I look forward to continuing my learning.
What Yama/Niyama comes to mind first and how are you using it your life right now?
Spending a lot of my life as a people pleaser and working over-time to not offend or hurt other people’s feelings – the Yama that comes to my mind first is Satya – Truthfulness – it is one that I have been working on. Finding my truth and not being afraid to speak it. I continue to learn how to allow truth to be present in my life and speak authentically from a place that serves me and may not necessarily serve other people – and be okay with that with no guilt.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Can kids be an accomplishment?? If so, my boys and the amazing men they are growing up to be. I am so lucky they chose me to be their mother. If kids aren’t an accomplishment – then I am proud of the transitions to a healthier, more vibrant, active life that I have created for me and my family.
If you were going to write a book, what would you call it and what would it be about?
“Lean In and Feel it All” – Turning up the volume of our life experiences and living life from a place of authenticity.
What is your favorite benefit of YogaFit Partnership?
Kristy giving me new CDs at the MBFs. I haven’t really explored a lot of the partner perks – I need to work on that.
If someone were to make a movie about your life, who would you hope would play you?
I have multiple personalities so these are the lucky actress’ I would love to play me in a movie. Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I have a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing and Interpersonal Communications. I wanted to be a buyer for a big retail company and travel the world. Living from an authentic place in my soul, now, I get to teach yoga, coach clients towards health and inspire people to change their choices – one day at a time. Blessed am I!
