Years training YogaFit: 13
Levels taken: RYT 200, YogaFit for Warriors
Other certifications: RYT 200, ACE Group Fitness, AFAA, Group & Personal Trainer, Schwinn Cycling
Bio: I chose YogaFit for several reasons. First, it is an active style of
yoga. When dealing with college age students, they want to move and be physically challenged, many unaware of the spiritual side of the practice which is laterintroduced. Secondly, when I took my training, it was obvious that the ancient exercises of yoga had been married with modern exercise science through the Three Mountains structure. It was logical, safe, and challenging to all capabilities.

My primary role is the development and administration of the Group Exercise Program for a campus of 50,000+ students and 11,000+ faculty/staff at Michigan State University. Beginning with a staff of 5 leading 3 different exercise formats in one studio, the staff now numbers 60+ leading an array of different formats. Students as well as faculty/staff make up this service force and all ages serve as role models for an active lifestyle regardless of field of study or campus career. One studio has grown to four and the addition of 25+ weekly ‘Neighborhood’ classes throughout the residence hall system to the established 50+ classes in our studios provides healthy fitness options and stress management opportunities across our large campus where students live and staff work to support a future generation.

Married with two daughters, Jeff and Rebecca travel to Texas to visit daughter Amanda, and her Air Force pilot husband, Daniel, and to Seattle, Washington, to visit daughter Melissa who works for Price WaterhouseCoopers as an audit manager. In the summer you'll find her battling the weeds in the flower gardens while the three family cats supervise.

Bio: Yoga comes to us when we are ready. It has become my passion, my driving motivation. I love to share my practice. The style of Yoga I teach is for everybody and every body. I have been in the Fitness Industry for ten years, overcoming obstacles once thought untouchable to me. Weight gain, disease, dis-ease, and, worse of all, not believing in myself, as a woman, it all took its toll. Yoga changed my life forever. How? One step at a time. With dedication to my health and hard work, I overcame and reversed Type 2 Diabetes and, thanks to Yoga, have maintained a 100 pound weight loss for the past 8 years. I found my Yoga practice in 2006, decided to pursue my education and became a Registered Yoga Teacher. I stand firm in my belief of Continuing Education. A good teacher is a great student! Merritt Island Yoga Studio was founded in October 2012 by Kim Bolinger. Kim tragically lost her battle to colon cancer July 2014. She bestowed her wishes to see the studio remain open and thriving to me. A humble honor, I am working hard to establish. I hope to teach you a new awareness of your mind, body and spirit. Each class, I bring my best, my quirky personality and my heart.
