Recently, the use of eco –friendly mats has become an increasingly popular option for people who practice yoga. These mats are constructed from materials which can provide a greater comfort for the practice of yoga and are made from materials that do not have a harmful impact upon the environment.

Eco-friendly mats are often made from plant-based materials such as rubber which are toxin-free and have no man-made chemicals within them. Rubber also has a long shelf-life and can be highly durable, re-cyclable and washable.

Another eco-friendly material sometimes used for yoga mats is foam. Foam is also mostly free of environmentally-harmful materials such as phytlates, latex and heavy metals.

So, if we consider what’s best for you, the environment and indeed how you practice yoga, mats made from eco-friendly materials offer the best option.
