YogaFit® Training Systems FAQs
Everything you need to know about becoming a certified yoga instructor.
Do
you offer ACE continuing education credits (CEC’s)?
We DO offer ACE CEC’s. We are partners with ACE and
offer 20% off any Level 1 yoga training to ACE professionals.
Does ACE offer a special discount for their test materials
for YogaFit trainees?
Yes! The discount code is: yogafit
What is ACE?
ACE stands for American Council on Exercise. ACE is an education
company who certifies individuals to become personal trainers,
group exercise instructors, lifestyle weight management,
and clinical exercise specialist. *You do not have to be
ACE certified to attend YogaFit trainings.
Do you offer AFAA CEC’s (continuing education credits)?
We don’t provide AFAA CEC’s. Those who would
like to receive AFAA credits for our trainings will need
to petition with AFAA.
Will I be a “certified” yoga instructor after attending the Level
1 training?
After you attend the Level 1 training and complete the
community service requirement you will receive a certificate
of completion.
You can then say that you are Level 1 -trained by YogaFit.
There really is no such thing as “certification” for
yoga teachers. However, there is a “registration” option
that provides proof of a minimum standard (RYT designation
provided by Yoga Alliance).
How long do I have to complete the 8 hours of required community
service?
You have 12 months to complete the 8 hours and provide proof.
In the meantime you are welcome to register and participate
in the next level of training.
What is Yoga Alliance?
Yoga Alliance has developed educational standards for yoga
education companies (teacher trainings schools). The programs
that they set the standards for are a 200 hour RYT program
and a 500 hour RYT program.
What does RYT stand for?
RYT stands for: Registered Yoga Teacher
Does YogaFit offer a 200 hour RYT program? If so, what does
this program consist of?
Yes, we do offer a 200-hour RYT program.
This program consists of the following 10 trainings:
• Level 1
• Level 1/Integration (retrain)
• Purchase and review of YogaFit's Level ONE Training DVD
• Level 2
• Level 2/Integration (retrain)
• Level 3
• YogaFit Seniors (learn more about props and modifications)
• Anatomy and Alignment (New 2-day training!)
• Level 4 (offered at Mind Body Fitness Conferences only)
• Level 5 (New 2-day training lead by Beth Shaw! Learn communication,
yoga techniques and open your heart/mind/spirit; offered
at Mind Body Fitness Conferences only)
• One additional specialty training: YogaFit Pre/Postnatal
OR YogaFit Kids!
What is a retrain/integration and where are they offered?
YogaFit provides so much information in each training, that
we offer an opportunity to integrate the information at a
deeper level by taking the training a second time at a deeply
discounted rate. Participants greatly appreciate this opportunity
and find that they retain the information much more fully.
Is there a time frame to complete these trainings?
No, there is not! That’s what is so great about our
200-hour RYT program. You can go at your own pace and financial
needs.
Does YogaFit offer a Yoga Alliance-approved 500-hour RYT
Teacher Training Program?
Yes! Click here for the details of the Yoga Alliance-approved 500 RYT Teacher Training Program.
Does the YogaFit® Training Systems need to be taken in order?
After you attend level 1, you can move onto level 2 or
3. After completing level 1-3 you can attend level 4 and
then
level 5. Kids, PreNatal, Senior’s, and Anatomy and Alignment can
be taken at anytime, but we highly recommend taking Level
1 first. The retrains for Level 1 & 2 can be taken
at anytime after you have attended your first Level 1 and
2
training.
What should I bring to the training?
You will want to bring plenty of snacks and water, wear
comfortable, layered yoga clothes, and bring a yoga mat
(except for the
Level 1 trainings in the continental U.S. where a free
mat is provided for first time participants – free
mats are not provided in Hawaii, Canada, and other countries
outside
the U.S., where trainings are often discounted).
